Why Angelina Jolie 'Laughed' About Her Golden Globe Nomination

'The Tourist' star is up for best actress for her role in the film.

The announcement of The Tourist's multiple Golden Globe nominations drew audible laughter from the crowd of press and publicists assembled at the Beverly Hilton for Tuesday's pre-dawn announcement.
Apparently, Angelina Jolie -- who stars in the movie with Johnny Depp -- had the same reaction upon learning of her nomination.

Jolie was nominated for best performance by an actress in a comedy or musical for her role in the film -- which Sony Pictures sold as a romantic thriller.
Saying the acknowledgment was an honor, Jolie told the Associated Press: "We were laughing because it's the first time that I've been in the comedic category so it's new for me."
The movie wasn't a hit with critics or moviegoers, earning only $17 million in its box-office bow this past weekend.
But it still managed to score a Golden Globe nom for best picture in the comedy/musical category. Depp also was nominated.
Jolie, Depp -- a double nominee for his role in Alice in Wonderland -- and director Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck were in Germany on Tuesday for the film's Berlin premiere when they learned of their nominations.
